Reflexology, what is it?

Reflexology is a non-invasive modality which complements other therapies and modern medicine. We use our thumbs and fingers to apply pressure on specific areas of the feet or hands, based on a theory that those are connected to certain organs and body parts. All our body systems (digestive musculoskeletal, nervous, respiratory, urinary, endocrine, and lymphatic) have reflexes on our feet, and the aim is to improve the faction of those systems and bring them to work to their full potential.
Reflexology is a great way to help people heal from many health issues, and it is a beautiful way for calming, relaxing, and rejuvenating your mind and body.

Reflexology can help with: Headaches and migraines, digestive disorders, Arthritis, Insomnia, hormonal imbalances, PMS, menopause, back pain, joints pain, colds.
It can boost your immune system, clear your sinus and more.

Some history: The roots of reflexology go back to ancient Egypt and China. In 1915 Dr. William H. Fitzgerald, introduced the concept of zone therapy to the western world and in the 1930’s, American physiotherapist Eunice Ingram developed the zone theory into what is known as modern reflexology.

RLD. Reflexology Lymph Drainage

Reflexology Lymph Drainage, RLD, is an award winning reflexology technique which stimulates the lymphatic reflexes on the feet so it will optimize it’s function in the body. It’s a gentle, non invasive modality, easily applied through the feet.
RLD may be helpful for people living with lymphoedeme or with poor lymphatic system due to surgery, cancer treatment or illness and also for auto immune disorders such as fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, allergies, headaches and more.

Sally Kay developed, scientifically studied, researched and is now teaching her technique all around the world. I feel very blessed and proud to be one her students here in Australia.

My Story

Life is a wonderful ride!

I feel so blessed to follow my heart and do what I love. As Kevin Trudeau says: “Most people have no idea how good their body is designed to feel” – if I can help people to feel their best or heal their bodies, then I have done my share in this life.

In my 20’s I studied Shiatzu. I also became a qualified doula. I was innately drawn to the world of natural therapies.

Along the way, life took me in to the graphic design world, where I worked for some of my country’s top publications. I was blessed with marriage and three beautiful children.

20 years later, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. During my unwanted little adventure, I discovered the beauty of reflexology, thanks to some angels sent to me. I was reminded that our bodies and our health in fact have an amazing capacity. Reflexology helped me with the healing process and made me realise how much I miss natural therapies.

After almost a year of healing, I was lucky enough to be healthy and “clear” again. But unfortunately, there was a ‘souvenir’ left over…  I got lymphedema. I watched my nan suffer with it growing up. I was petrified. I could not accept the idea that this was for life. I was willing to put cancer behind me but lymphedema was a daily reminder. I went searching and found RLD (Reflexology Lymph Drainage). It changed my life.

So now, here I am, a qualified reflexologist and RLD practitioner. I have a burning passion to help others struggling with the after-effects of cancer and other health issues.

I followed my heart and healed – now I want to help you do the same.

👣 I tried out Reflexology for the 1st time for a few minor aches and pains this year and have to say this is an AMAZING treatment!! Shira was professional and understanding from the 1st treatment. Not only did I get relief from those few niggles that I had been having, but I also got a lot of stress relief that I obviously had been carrying around too. The whole experience was calming, relaxing and successful -I would certainly recommend Shira as your reflexologist – she has a natural, calm and relaxing manner to her profession and is very passionate for your well-being and comfort throughout the treatment. I will certainly be going back again for more ‘me’ time in the future.

👣 Shira is magical! I would highly recommend her. Her manner is so calming and she is so thoughtful about the ambience in the room. Every treatment I have had has sent me into a state of deep relaxation and left me feeling transformed. I found that it also helped with my migraines – after a series of treatments I was having less frequent and less extreme headaches. Highly recommended!
